In 1958, Quistgaard designed Relief for Kronjyden as a compensation for some of the costs associated with Flamestone's short production time. Quistgaard's first design with stylized tea leaves, a brown teapot, was made for Palshus in 1950. When he drew relief in 1958, he also experimented with color variations. There are green teapots and sugar bowls in blue, green, black and brown. The colored pattern relief items come from a developmental stage and are very rare items. Finally he decided on the characteristic yellow-brown color. Relief is Quistgaard's best-known design and was used in many Danish homes. Color and surface structure vary depending on the manufacturer and model year. The first pieces made without stamps look a little lighter, while those with the Kronjyden or Nissen Denmark stamps are a little clearer and have a thicker glaze. For this reason, pieces from this period often have small cracks in the glaze. Bing & Gröndahl used darker colors and a thinner glaze. Chronology: 1958-1960 Manufactured by Kronjyden, no stamp | From 1960 to 1972 the Kronjyden – Nissen Denmark stamp was used. |1972 Bing & Gröndahl acquires Kronjyden-Nissen. | B&G stamp from 1972 to 1988.
